Joseph Quarantillo, 89, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late George and Carmel (Chiampi) Quarantillo.

Joseph attended local schools and was a graduate of Trott Vocational, where he studied the Electrical Trade.  He was drafted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1955.  In 1961, he married Lorna (Feren) Quarantillo at St. Joseph Church.  Joseph was employed as a lineman for 39 years with IBEW Local 1249 out of Syracuse, NY, retiring in 1995.

Joseph always lent a helping hand and was a huge help to others, never putting himself first.  He enjoyed teaching others old things in a different way, was an avid tinkerer and engineer, and a true old school Mr. Fix It.  He loved working on cars, spending time outside on his golf cart in the garden with his grandchildren, and bowling.  He will be remembered as a jokester, both at work and at home.  Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, and was a true friend to many.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph (Heather) Quarantillo, David (Brandi Jackson) Quarantillo, and Karen (Jim Cummings) Quarantillo; his grandchildren, Louie Laurie (Chelsea Tierney), Sarah Laurie, Joseph Quarantillo, Bridger Quarantillo, and Isabella Jackson; his great-grandchildren, Lewis, Adrianna, Alina, and Madelyn, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Laurie, and his siblings, Augustine (late Jean) Quarantello, Ann (late Joseph) Lotterio, Phyllis Manaresi, and Bernardino 'Bill' (late Helen) Quarantello.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Saturday at 11:15 AM, followed by Joseph's Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY, with Military Honors.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the IBEW 1249 Active Retiree's Fund, 8531 Brewerton Road, Cicero, NY 13039.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
