Joseph F. Renda, 86 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday January 13, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Albert and Tomasina Renda.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. He attended local schools including the former Trott Vocational High School, and later served in the United States Army. Joseph married Josephine (Frattaroli) Renda in 1985 at St. George's Church in Niagara Falls. Joe started his employment at the age of 13 working with his father delivering beer to local taverns and homes. After his honorable discharge from the military, he became a salesman for Simon Pure Brewery. He went on to purchase Renda's NY Fish Market from his parents in 1967, and successfully ran the business until selling it in 1974.

Joseph was an active member of the Power City Lodge in Niagara Falls. He also enjoyed bowling, gardening, bocce and playing cards with his friends. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, especially telling stories to his precious granddaughter Lauren.

In addition to his loving wife, Joseph is survived by one daughter Dana (Ken) Zuber of Lewiston, NY, two grandchildren, Lauren (Kevin) Papaj of North Tonawanda, NY and Jacob Zuber of Lewiston, NY, two sisters, Mickey (late John) Paonessa of Niagara Falls, NY, Catherine (Al) Leo of the Southern Tier, NY, one bother Frank (Lorraine) Renda of Niagara Falls, NY as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 16th at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Drive Lockport, NY 14094 or a charity of one's choice.
