On Friday February 6th 2026, our Lord and Savior called home another one of his children. Joseph S Candella, Jr. passed away peacefully. Born in Sioux Falls, SD on May 27, 1945. He was the son of the late Joseph S Candella Sr. and Theresa (Schultz) Candella, and the beloved husband of the late Bonnie G. (Simpson) Candella, whom he happily married in 1966.

Joe graduated from Niagara Falls high school and earned his Master's degree in Engineering. He proudly served the United States Air Force before continuing his service with the Air National Guard. Joe had fond memories playing first baseman while he was in the Air Force.

Joe dedicated many years of his career as a Civil Engineer at the Niagara Falls Air Base, a position he truly enjoyed. Outside of work he found great joy living and working on his farm. Riding tractors and tending to the land. He was a proud member of the NRA and enjoyed target shooting. Joe loved to travel, enjoyed photography, music, all kinds of Art, flowers, animals and nature that God has blessed us with. Above all Joe was most thankful and cherished time with his family. His wife Bonnie was the love of his life. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He treasured family gatherings and considered himself truly blessed when his family could all be together.

Joe has two daughters, Joelle Sebring, Nicole Phillips and had one son, the late Joseph S Candella III. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Lauren Phillips, Kelsey Phillips and Joseph S Candella IV.; his brothers, James (Joann) Candella and John (Sharon) Candella, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 12 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13 at 11:00 AM.
