Joseph M. Tardibuono, 89, loving and devoted husband of the late Rita (Viola) Tardibuono of Niagara Falls, NY entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 surrounded by his adoring family. Born November 13, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Thomas and Santa Tardibuono. Joseph proudly Served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1950 and attended the University at Buffalo. Following this, he married the love of his life, Rita in April of 1952 and the two spent 62 wonderful years together and created a home and family in Niagara Falls. He worked as a well respected chemist at Dupont for 36 years and later he and his wife went on to be one of the original proprietors of Viola's Submarine Shop of Niagara Falls, established in 1958. Joseph created a legacy within his family business and was so very proud of the submarines that have become a staple of Niagara Falls. He always worked hard and was a selfless individual putting family and friends first touching many lives by his kind soul and generosity. Joseph truly had a love for all animals and adored his two beloved dogs, Roxy and Gino. He had a passion for the US stock market, possessed a wisdom in politics and was one of the founders of the original conservative party in Niagara county. He spent many years traveling with his wife and loved cooking canning, and gardening. He was always eager to teach his children and grandchildren family recipes and was known to frequently "experiment" with different dishes. Most of all Joseph loved spending time with his family, he was a very intelligent man and always found a way to teach a life lesson through his vast life experiences. Joseph was the patriarch of a family who loved and adored him, they learned the true value of loving one another unconditionally. He was able to instill family tradition in a way that will never be forgotten. Anyone that met Joseph, remembered and loved him as he was a gentle, giving, helpful and loving man. He will be sadly missed but his memories and love will be forever in our hearts.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife Rita, and survived by his six children, Sandy (Paul) Ranaletti of Wheatfield, Rose (Bob) Bradfield of Niagara Falls, Sarah (Scott) Gregory of Niagara Falls, Thomas (Lisa Gordon) Tardibuono of Niagara Falls, Peter (Michelle) Tardibuono of Niagara Falls, and Gina (Michael) Corbelli of Batavia; Twenty two grandchildren Dina (Tony) Gigliotti, Andrew (Jennifer) Ranaletti, Kristina (Kevin) McGee, Shelly Bradfield-Weiss, Bobby (Marisa) Bradfield, Robin (Carmin) Trigilio, Rachel Gregory, Joe Tardibuono, Anthony Tardibuono, Joey Canzoneri, Michael Canzoneri, Nick Canzoneri, Maria Canzoneri, Sarah (Rocco) DellaPenna, Tess (Joseph) Garland, Cara Corbelli, Nicholas Corbelli, Christopher Corbelli, Michael (Nina) Tardibuono-Colangelo, Thomas Tardibuono, Kari Tardibuono and Chelsea Tardibuono; eight great grandchildren Brooklynn McGee, Conner McGee, Mariano Weiss, Isabella Weiss, Anthony Gigliotti, Angelo Gigliotti, Carmin Trigilio, Angelina Trigilio. He is the brother of Peter (Diane) Tardibuono and his nephew, Anthony Tardibuono. Joseph is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28th from 3 – 7 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Cancer Society 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228 or St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church.
