Joseph W. Segarra, 64, of Grand Island, NY, passed away on July 7, 2026 peacefully in his home after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Betty (Kinary) Segarra.
Joseph shared 40 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lori (LaMorticella) Segarra. Together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. He was a proud father to his two children, Bryan and Taylor, who brought him endless joy and were among his greatest accomplishments.
Joseph was a graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School and earned a full scholarship to play baseball at Butler University, where he went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
He began his professional life at Ernst & Young, where he served as an accountant. He joined Rich Products, embarking on an enjoyable and great career that spanned more than 35 years. Currently he served as President of Rich Entertainment Group, as well as Senior Vice President of Finance and the Family Office for Rich Products Corporation, roles in which he was deeply loved.
Joseph found happiness in the outdoors, especially through his passion for hunting and golfing. He was a longtime member of Niagara Falls Country Club and Quail Creek Country Club in Naples, FL. Whether he was in the woods, on the golf course, or simply enjoying time with those he loved most, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm and gratitude.
Above all else, Joseph treasured the time spent with his family, creating memories that will be forever held close to their hearts. He will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering love for his family, and the many lives he touched through his warmth and generosity.
In addition to his loving wife, Lori, and his two beloved children Bryan (Katherine) Segarra, and Taylor (Jeffrey) Monfils, Joseph is also survived by his adored granddaughter, Carlotta Rose Monfils; his siblings Martin (Susan) Segarra, Patricia (Lee) Wallace, Susan (Anthony) Masella and James (Ann) Segarra; his beloved extended LaMorticella family, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues and countless friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 12 from 2 – 6 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Joseph’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 13 at 11:30 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14072. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings in Joseph’s name may be made to Cleveland Clinic or Hospice Care of Buffalo. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
