Josephine Rose (Longo) Certo, 92, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday May 30, 2015 in Queensbury, NY. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 20, 1922 to the late Nicolo and Arcangela (nee Magaddino) Longo. Josephine graduated Ryan High School in Youngstown, Ohio, Class of 1940. Josephine worked in the financial district in New York City before marrying Albert J. Certo on February 13, 1947. Mr. Certo predeceased her on June 3, 1980.

Josephine is survived by her five children, Peter J. (Joanne) Certo of Buffalo, NY, Dr. Nicholas J. (Sylvia) Certo of Mill Valley, CA, Katherine M. (Richard) Farrell of Torre del Mar, Spain, Arcangela (Dr. J. David) Bannon of Queensbury, NY, and Albert J. (Deborah) Certo Jr. of Ocean Ridge, FL, her eleven grandchildren, Jessica Sheridan of Portland, OR, Amanda Sheridan, Jeremy Sheridan, and Corey Rae Hunter of Buffalo, NY, Colin M. Bannon of Los Angeles, CA, Nicholas A. Certo of Lakewood, CA, Maura E. Bannon of Glens Falls, NY, Tess E. Bannon of Buffalo, NY, Mia L. Certo of Mill Valley, CA, Michael H. Certo, and Charles L. Certo of Ocean Ridge, FL, her two great-grandchildren, Jaemien M. Morgan and Jaeda E. Morgan of Tonawanda, NY, her sister Antonina (late James) DiGregorio and her niece Angela (Dr. Wallace) Leese of Chico, CA, and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one sister Rose M. Longo

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at M. J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Saturday June 6th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 4th St., Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to St. Mary of the Cataract Church 259 4th St., Niagara Falls, NY 14303.
