Josephine Latine, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the loving daughter of the late John and Theresa (Minadeo) Latine.
Josephine attended local schools and graduated from the former St. Mary's High School. She then attended D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY and earned a Master's Degree in Education. Josephine later moved to Southern California, where she taught Mathematics for over thirty years until her retirement. In 1998 she returned to Niagara Falls where she lived until the present time. Josephine was a member of the Volare Lodge in Niagara Falls. She enjoyed going to the casino, listening to Josh Grobin music and doing arts and crafts.
Josephine is survived by one brother Mark Allen Hogan of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one brother Chester Latine. She is also survived by one niece Nicole (Steven) Ochs of Louisiana, a great nephew Odin Ochs; god daughter Julie (Rob) Byrum and god son Sammy Cotton III all of Indiana, as well as one aunt Mary (late Joseph) Catanese of Niagara Falls, NY. Josephine is also survived by cousins Connie Tesoriere of Niagara Falls, NY, Sam (Becky) Cotton, Lauren Cotton, Matthew Byrum, and Sammy (Amy) Cotton, II, Andrea Cotton, Weslie Thomas, Taylor Thomas and Brandon Thomas all of Indiana and several other loving cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, September, 19th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the American Association of the Deaf – Blind, P.O. Box 8064, Silver Spring, MD 20907-8064.
