Josephine Metro, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on October 23, 2020 under the care of Niagara Hospice at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Concetta (DiRamio) Marino and (Luigi) Celeste. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank D. Metro whom she married on July 3, 1948.  Frank predeceased her on August 13, 2019 after 71 cherished years together.

Josephine attended local schools and was employed with Latina Foods in Niagara Falls for 25 years as she would sing to her customers until retiring in 1992.  She was a member of the Anime Sante DelPurgatorio Society of St. Joseph's Church.  Jo adored her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful hostess who enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She loved to go shopping on Wednesdays with her best friend the late Josephine Conti.

Josephine is survived by her children, John (Susan Brown) Metro and MaryJo Metro Diehl (Leo Bax); her grandchildren, John F. (Lori) Metro, David Metro, Elisabeth (Robert) Nagel, Matthew (Melissa) Metro and Victoria Lyn Diehl; great-grandchildren, John P. Metro, Grace and Olivia Nagel and Sophia Metro; siblings, Gilda (Dominic 'Mickey') Rizzo and Albert (Rosemary) Celeste, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by a son, Michael A. Metro and her siblings, Louis (late Antoinette) Marino, Anthony (Donna) Celeste and her infant twin Anthony Marino.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 27 from 3-7 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 9:15 A.M., followed by Josephine's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
