Josephine (Previte) Morganti, 93 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Saturday May 7, 2011 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Westmoreland, PA she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosaria Previte.

Josephine moved to the Niagara Falls area as a small child with her family. She attended local schools including Ferry Avenue and Niagara Falls High School. On September 16, 1939, she married Carmen J. Morganti in St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Morganti predeceased her on August 4, 1993. Josephine worked as a sales clerk at several local department stores in Niagara Falls, including the former Beir's, J.N. Adam & Co. and Jenss Department Stores. Josephine was a fabulous baker, who enjoyed being with her family, especially on their weekly Sunday gatherings.

Mrs. Morganti is survived by her two daughters, Rose Marie (Vincent) Pellegrino of Niagara Falls, NY, Sarah Jane (Ronald) Alviti of Sanborn, NY, seven grandchildren, Peter (Karin) Pellegrino, Monica (Brian) Faix, Marie (Arthur) Ponzi, Craig Alviti, Paul Alviti, Christine (David) Din and Jennifer (William) Best, ten great-grandchildren, one sister Angeline (late Peter) Milicia of Niagara Falls, NY, her sisters-in-law, Mary (William) Ryan, Rose (late Anthony) Lore and Vera (John) MacDonald all of Niagara Falls, NY, her devoted friend Mary Vilardo as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one brother Thomas Previte.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday May 10th at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay O.S.F.S. officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBEL AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
