Josephine Perez-Marra, 87 of Hampton, NH, formerly of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Saturday August 28, 2010 under the compassionate care of the Oceanside Skilled Nursing Facility in Hampton, NH. Born September 11, 1922 in Taylor Springs, IL, she was the daughter of the late Ramon and Paula Perez.

Josephine came to Niagara Falls, NY as a young child with her family and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. In her early years, Josephine worked in the credit department at Sears & Roebuck, and inventory control at Carborundum. She volunteered as a nurse's aide during World War II. Josephine worked for Lewiston-Porter Central School, starting as a teacher's aide in 1969 and retiring as the District Media offset press operator 23 years later. In her leisure time, she volunteered at Artpark and for the Census Bureau in Lewiston. Throughout her life Jo loved children, travel, and movies but will be most remembered for her devotion to her family, friends and the Catholic Church.

Mrs. Perez-Marra is survived by two sons, Mark (Diana) Marra of Hampton, NH and Marty (Vickie) Marra of Louisville, CO, two grandchildren, Matthew Marra and Katherine Marra, three sisters, Mary (late Frank) Maietta of Niagara Falls, Anne (late Joseph) Carreno of Wheatfield, Pauline (late M.Thomas) Embury of Jamestown, NY, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her former husband, Rocco R. Marra, and siblings, Lucy, Margaret, Nick, and Cirilo Perez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday September 3rd at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's RC Church, 620 Center Street Lewiston, NY. Interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
