Josephine Porto, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the loving daughter of the late Pietro and Caterina (Matteucci) Bartolomei.

Josephine was raised in Niagara Falls where she attended local schools. She was employed at the former Tattler's Lane Bridal Shop for many years. In June of 2000, she married her husband, Gabriel Porto, at the Forest Avenue Church of God. Josephine enjoyed arts and crafts and going to the casino. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and watching their sporting events.

In addition to her husband, Josephine is survived by her children, Edward (Claudine) Carlo and Peter (Janine) Carlo; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Vincent, Peter, Dominic, and Gabriella Carlo, Angelica and Romeo Porto, and James and Kaleigh DeBowes; two brothers, Bruno (Paulette) (late Judith) Bartolomei and John P. (Maria) Bartolomei, Esq.; two step-children Damita (Jim) DeBowes and Joseph (Nancy) Porto; her nieces and nephews, Lisa Bartolomei and her son, Mason Kelly, and Bruno (Danielle) Bartolomei, Jr. and their children Bruno and Rocco Bartolomei. She was predeceased by one nephew, John Bartolomei, Jr.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 5 ^th from 3 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 10:15 A.M., followed by Josephine's Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N.
