Josephine L. Vittie, 98, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on July 16, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosalie (Mansu) Valenti.

Josephine attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  On April 23, 1949, she married Malcom 'Carl' Vittie at St. Joseph Church.  Mr. Vittie predeceased her on January 26, 1999.  Josephine was employed in retail at various stores in Niagara Falls, including S.S. Kresge and Great Bear Market.  She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church as well as the Women of the Moose Lodge, and enjoyed her monthly dinners with the Ladies of the Moose.  Josephine enjoyed reading, but above all, cherished the time spent with her friends and family.

Josephine is survived by her sister, Anna (late Bruno) Watroba; her daughters, Rose Ann Vittie and Patricia Siegfried; her grandchildren, Nicole Schryver (Jason) and Josh D. Vittie; her great-granddaughter, Marissa Ciccone (Zack), as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband of 49 years, she was predeceased by her siblings, Florence (late John) Reele, Russell (late Eileen) Valenti, and Joseph Valenti.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 9:15 AM, followed by Josephine's Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Private interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Lewiston Number 1 Fire Company, 145 N. 6th Street, Lewiston, NY 14092 or Niagara Hospice.
