Obituary

Judy McCray, 77, of Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at Lockport Rehabilitation. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jim and Susie Frails.

Judy was raised in Niagara Falls, where she attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She was a standout bowler and a proud longtime member of the Professional Bowlers Association. Her competitive spirit, steady focus, and natural talent made her a respected presence on the lanes.

Judy embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. She loved playing Bingo, visiting the casino, and gathering with friends and family for card games. She was also a devoted Buffalo Bills fan. Above all, Judy cherished the time spent with her family, who brought her the greatest happiness.

Judy is survived by her children, James (Monique) McCray and Shannon Sims, and was sadly predeceased by her son, Ahmed McCray and step mother, Marva Frails. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Miles, Morgan, Maya, Marley, Marshall, Desmond, Diamond, Shaolin, and Pe’Shence; her cherished great grandchildren, her siblings, Jimmy (late Carmen) May, Hazel (Cleveland) Hartman, Edward May, and Willie Frails; her niece Robyn Prewitt, who was like another daughter to her. Judy is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her brother, Johnnie (Ada) Deans, and her sisters Deborah (Charles) May Burt, Geraldine Frails, and Savannah Wallard.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, Niagara Falls, NY. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
