Julio Muscatello, 98, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Rocco and Anna (Brusino) Muscatello.
Julio attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. In 1942, he enlisted into the United States Army and served under General George Patton throughout Europe and Africa during World War II. Following his discharge on October 29, 1945, he returned home and began working at Tabi Brothers, Walter S. Johnson and Chevrolet.
Julio married his beloved wife, Theresa M. Muscatello on May 19, 1948 at St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Muscatello passed away on July 3, 2006 after 58 memorable years together.
Julio retired from the New York State Power Authority as a mechanic after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime member of the YMCA in Niagara Falls, where he enjoyed playing racquetball. He also enjoyed bowling and golfing; and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Mr. Muscatello is survived by his children, Barbara (Thomas) Koester, Lori Muscatello, Kathy (Greg) Malstrom and Jim (Bridget) Muscatello; his grandchildren, Tami Orrange, Teri Orrange, Toni (Larry) Torchia, Corey (Liz) Malstrom, Christy (Greg) Mastin, Kyle Malstrom, Kelly Malstrom, Katie Malstrom, James (Erica) Muscatello, Meghan Muscatello and Ryan Muscatello; his great-grandchildren, Parker and Layton Mastin, Colton and Bryce Malstrom, Callie Jo and Sydney Joelle Torchia, and Hudson and Palmer Muscatello; two siblings, Albert (Nancy) Muscatello and Richard (Josephine) Muscatello; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 4th from 9 – 10:30 A.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 10:30 A.M. followed by Julio's Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
