Katherine L. (Torcasio) Getty, 96 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on, February 22, 2017 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY.  Born in Allegheny, PA she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ambrosina (Vinezia) Torcasio.

Katherine moved to Olean, NY as a child with her family, and later settled in Niagara Falls following her marriage. She was an accomplished seamstress, and worked out of her own home sewing and making clothing.  Katherine also worked for the City of Niagara Falls Public Library System.  Katherine was an extensive traveler and in her leisure time enjoyed word search puzzles, playing cards, bingo and going out for dinner.  She especially loved her dog Sadie, but above all will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who centered her life on her family.

Mrs. Getty was predeceased by her husband, James W. Getty.  She is survived by her two children, Ronald (Connie) Getty of Lewiston and Pamela (late Kenneth) Bozek of Niagara Falls, her grandchildren, Kristy Bozek, Jennifer (Bryan) Dümm, Nick Getty, Andrea (Gene) Bondi, and Julie (Eric) Acanfora, great-grandchildren, Ella and Deanna Bondi, Wyatt and Violet Acanfora, Sam, Sophia and Sienna Getty, Alivia Dümm and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was also predeceased by two brothers, Samuel (Viola) Torcasio, Fred (late Fern) Torcasio and one sister, Madelyn (late Angelo) Milazzo.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 1 - 3 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m.  Interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at the convenience of the family.    Visit www.mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online guest register.
