Obituary
Kathleen M. (Calandrelli) DeFazio, 62 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Saturday April 28, 2012. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Stella (Yacus) Calandrelli.
Kathleen was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1967. On October 3, 1970, she married Ronald F. DeFazio in Niagara Falls, NY. Following high school, Kathy received her cosmetology license, and worked as a beautician for Mico's Hair Salon in Niagara Falls. She was also an Avon sales representative, and for the past eighteen years, worked as a Teacher's Assistant for the Niagara Falls Board of Education, at the High School. She was a member of the Niagara Falls Teachers Resource Center Board of Directors, and Niagara Falls High School class of 1967 reunion committee.
Kathy loved spending time at her backyard pond along with her dogs Vito and George. She also enjoyed making crafts, particularly Ukrainian Pysanky Eggs, and traveling to Las Vegas to play the slot machines. Above all, Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter.
In addition to her husband of forty one years, Kathy is survived by her three children, Dana A. (Tony Cancilla) DeFazio, Devin A. (Marc) Antonelli and Derek A. (fiancé Jamie Stauffer) DeFazio all of Niagara Falls, NY. Kathy was the beloved 'Baba' to her granddaughter Stella Antonelli, sister to, Steven (Linda) Calandrelli and Ernest (Helen) Calandrelli both of Lewiston, NY and daughter-in-law of, Ann (late Frank) DeFazio of Niagara Falls, NY. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 3-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 1st at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Relay for Life, Western NY Region 101 John James Audubon Pkwy
