Kathleen E. (Herring) Ganczewski, 89, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday February 23, 2015 at Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home. Born in London, England, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha (Blackburn) Herring.

Kathleen was raised and educated in England, and served in the British Royal Army, Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War II. On February 3, 1945 she married Walter F. Ganczewski, Jr. in Ruislip, England, and afterwards moved to the United States and settled in Buffalo, NY. She was a member of the American Legion Frederick F. Cadille Post 1664 Women's Auxiliary in Niagara Falls, NY and a former member of St. Adalbert's Church in Buffalo, NY. In her leisure time Kathleen enjoyed knitting and gardening.

Mrs. Ganczewski is survived by her four children, Michael (late Cynthia) Ganczewski of Buffalo, NY, Renee (Dr. Lawrence) Connell of Harrisburg, VA, Mark (Maria) Ganczewski of Niagara Falls, NY, Conrad (Patrice) Ganczewski of Buffalo, NY; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by two sons, David (Marlene of Kenmore, NY) Ganczewski, Michael Leo Ganczewski, a daughter Martha Joanne Ganczewski, her grandson, Sgt. Steven Ganczewski and sister Frances Sawyer.

Visitation will be on Saturday February 28th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Buffalo, NY. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
