Kathleen K. 'Kathy' Schnell, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2021 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Horseheads, NY, she was the daughter of Mary (Hughes) and the late Bernard Kennedy.
Kathy was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. On May 18, 1974, she married Lyle A. Schnell at St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads. The couple then settled in Niagara Falls. Kathy enjoyed gardening, watching movies - especially historical themed movies, and always loved a good yard sale! Kathy really liked cooking homemade meals which were truly enjoyed by her family. Kathy also enjoyed helping people, and she always had the biggest smile that was infectious. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who centered her life around her beloved family.
In addition to her mother and her husband of 46 years, Kathy is survived by her children, Colleen Schnell, Lisa (Brandon) Mize, Mandy (Ronald) Weatherston, and Joan (Rick) Cardamone; her grandchildren, Hailey Weatherston, Sean Weatherston, Braydon Mize, and Nathanael Mize; her siblings, Ann (John) McCarthy, Mary Alice (William) Nicholson, Karen Smith, Beverly (Christopher Barton) Kennedy, Bernadette Kennedy, Dolores Kennedy, Paul Kennedy, B. Robert (Jane) Kennedy, Joan (Dennis Kocsis) Kennedy, and Elizabeth (Miki) Kennedy, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Schnell. Kathy is predeceased by her brother-in-law Charles Smith, brother-in-law Floyd Schnell, and nephews Jimmy Nicholson and Bryan Freer. She was also predeceased by her father-in-law, Walter Schnell.
Due to current circumstances, private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family, with interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held at a future time.
