Kathleeen A. "Kay" (Licastro) Stancomb, 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Angeline (Cirrito) Licastro.
Kay, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, came to Niagara Falls as a child with her family and attended local schools. She worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the Niagara Falls area until her move to Whittier, CA in 1965. Kay worked at a local bakery in Whittier for 40 years. In 2005 she returned to Niagara Falls to be close to her family. In her leisure time, she loved to crochet.
Kay was predeceased by her husband Robert Stancomb. She is survived by one brother Mario 'Ginger' (Lorraine) Licastro; two sisters Frances Snyder and Grace (late Michael) Greenawalt and her dear nieces and nephews, Michael (Lisa) Licastro, Valerie (Joseph) Rosati, Jeffery (Laura) Licastro, Anthony (Marybeth) Licastro, Paul (Molly) Licastro, Paul Hurtt, Robert Hurtt, Mark Snyder and Cathy Snyder; sister in law, Barbara Licastro. She was also predeceased by one brother Joseph Licastro and a nephew Richard Hurtt.
Kathleen's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Our Lady of Peace staff on the 3rd floor East for taking such good care of Kay. She loved all of you and her special care angel Marlene.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at St. Vincent De Paul at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jeff Nowak officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Donations in Mrs. Stancomb's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
