Kathleen Marie Lasher was born on June 10th, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY. She was the daughter of Jerald Francis and Glenna Lois (Lorenz) Lasher. Kathy was the oldest of eight children. That made her Lasher Number 1 in the family count that was always taken in the car after several children were accidently left behind.

She was the apple of Grandpa's (Poppy's) eye. In fact, Kathy was quite the spoiled child, having lived with her parents, her grandparents and Aunt Elsie and Aunt Minnie in the same house.  Mom would nurse her and grandma would then feed her a bottle of canned milk with a little sugar just in case nursing wasn't enough. Kathy never acted spoiled but always smiled and was loving and kind to everyone. She loved kittens and always had them as pets. Her mantra in life was to "never grow up". Although this led to many problems in life, she always knew "things would turn out alright". After graduating from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1965, Kathy worked as a Switchboard Operator and then Secretary in Transportation at the Niagara Falls Air Base. She was able to type 104 words per minute on a typewriter.  She was in charge of all the paperwork needed to ship full loads of supplies on the huge C130 planes all over the world. She was later transferred to McGuire Air Base in New Jersey. It was at McGuire that Kathy met John who happened to have the same last name. This proved to be problematic but often amusing when they had to get passports when John was stationed in Germany. John was the love of her life and it was very difficult for her when he died in 2006.  Her funeral today is also John's birthday.

Kathleen is survived by her children, John F., Terri Lasher (Dan) Kline and Katrina; grandson Damien, her siblings, Margaret or Peggy Wolf, Teresa or Terry Lasher (late Edmund) Winslow, Eileen or Leenie Thorman, Michael or Mike (Kristy) Lasher, Rebecca or Becky Guarino and Thomas or Tom/ Tommy Lasher. Elizabeth (Steve) Kensinger died in 2015.

Kathy was ill for many years and died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in South Buffalo. She will be buried next to John in Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston. She now is reunited with her love John and the rest of her family.
