Kathleen A. Maher, 75, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Anne M. (Boland) Maher.

Kathleen was a graduate of the former Madonna High School and obtained her Bachelor's degree from Medaille College. She earned her Master's degree and Doctorate degree from the University at Buffalo.

Kathleen began her dedicated career to teaching with the Niagara Falls School District. She served as Principal of 79th Street School for many years. Kathleen later retired as the districts Chief Educational Administrator.

Kathleen was an avid reader and excellent cook. She devoted her life to her family and friends whom she loved to entertain. She also enjoyed traveling to Lido Key, Sarasota, FL, as well as spending time at her family's cottage in Silver Bay, Ontario.

Kathleen is survived by her sister, Mary Lynne Maher; her uncle Donald J. (late Lois A.) Boland; her cousins, Timothy (Bernadette) Boland, Michael (Ronald Luczak) Boland, Daniel J. (Mari) Boland, Donald (Jill) Boland, Eileen (Nick) Yarussi, Ann (John Solowski) Boland, Patti Jo Boland, Patricia Boland, Theresa Boland and Robert E. Boland, as well as many other loving cousins and countless friends.

Visitation will be Monday, August 21 from 4 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 11:15 AM, followed by Kathleen's Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Mt. Carmel Church, 27th and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family asks you wear colorful clothing to the services in recognition of Kathleen's beautiful spirit. Memorial offerings may be made to Oishei Children's Hospital or The American Cancer Society.
