Kathryn M. Wass, 74, formerly of Lockport, NY, passed away on December 19 ^th , 2017 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born in Lockport, NY, she was daughter of the late Thomas W. and Catherine L. (DeHaas) Gaffney.

Kathryn was raised in Lockport and attended local schools.  She was employed by St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lockport, NY as a secretary during the 1970's.  In the 1980's, she moved to Stuart, FL and worked as an Operations Manager for Dean Witter until the early 1990's, and later was employed as a secretary for Think Life in Pompano Beach, FL during the mid-1990's.  She moved back to Lockport in the late 1990's and worked as a secretary for the Mental Health Association before moving Niagara Falls in the early 2000's.  Kathryn was an avid reader, enjoyed learning about multicultural history, and volunteering her time at Think Life.

Kathryn is survived by her children, Margo Wass and Monica (James) Lynch, three grandchildren, Nicholas Moreno, Miranda Wass, and Vanessa Tagg, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister, Maryalice Nomanson, three nieces, one nephew, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 23rd at 3 P.M. at M.J COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Passage House, C/O Family and Children's Services of Niagara, 1522 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.  Visit www.mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online register.
