Kathy S. (DeRose) Monti, 56, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Friday August 23, 2013 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of Joanne (Zarbo) DeRose of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Vincent DeRose.

Kathy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1974. On November 4, 1978 she married Louis F. Monti at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Kathy was member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and crocheting. Kathy was also an avid reader and liked to write poetry.

In addition to her husband of thirty four years Kathy is survived by two daughters Terese Monti of Van Nuys, CA and Samantha (Anthony) Fagiani of Niagara Falls, NY; one grandson Gino Fagiani and her Comaré Ann Fiorita.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304 where funeral services will begin on Monday August 26th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
