Kenneth B. Emmons, Sr., 84, of Tonawanda, NY, passed away on November 10, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family under the care of Hospice Buffalo. Born in Pittston, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth A. and Anna (Colorusso) Emmons.
Ken came to the area with his family at the age of 5, and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On September 20, 1958, he married Pauline A. (Feketic) Emmons in Niagara Falls, NY. Ken was employed as a driver with the Town of Tonawanda Highway Department for over 18 years until his retirement in 2000. He was a former Senator of the Jaycees, which is the highest honor bestowed on a member. Ken loved riding motorcycles and was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast. He was able to fix anything and everything, and also enjoyed fishing and vacationing to Florida and to Tropical Islands with his wife and family. Above all, he cherished the time they all spent together.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Kenneth is survived by his children, Judith (late Frank Rubino) Emmons, Kathleen (James Grace) Emmons, Janet (Michael) Hanavan, Kenneth B. (Denise) Emmons, Jr., and Douglas Emmons (Lynda Fonzi); his grandchildren, Damon Emmons, Eileen (Steve Musilowski) Hanavan, Patrick (Chelsea) Hanavan, and Timothy Hanavan; his great-grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, and Zachary; his sister, Darlene (Arthur) Zemszal, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Wilson 'Willy' (late N. Gwyn) Emmons.
Private funeral services and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston NY, will be held at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Hospice Buffalo.
