With heavy hearts the family of Kim D. Evans of Ransomville, NY express the mourning of his passing at age 53 on Sunday March 1, 2009 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Clarence W. and Anita L. (Robillard) Evans.

Kim graduated from Niagara Falls High School. During the Vietnam War he served in the United States Navy stationed aboard the USS Charles F. Adams from April 17, 1973 until his honorable discharge on March 25, 1977. He was employed as a stationary engineer at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat Co. in Niagara Falls, NY and later as a control room operator at DTE Energy Services in Tonawanda, NY. Kim liked fishing but most of all he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.

Mr. Evans is survived by his wife Joy M. (LeBrasseur) Evans, one son Duane P. (Jamie L.) Evans of Grand Island, NY; two grandchildren, the greatest love of his life Taylor and Ryan, three brothers Gary (Cathy) Evans of Acworth, GA; Ronald Evans of Huntersville, NC; Dale (Renee) Evans of Corona, CA; two sisters Flurette (Richard) Rutledge of Aurora, CO and Denise (John) McGhee of Cornealus, NC and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the son-in-law of Joseph and Lillian LeBrasseur. Kim was predeceased by one sister Susan (Peter of Springdale, AR) Renda.

Friends may call on Thursday from 1 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday March 6th at 9:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY with Rev. Joseph Badding officiating. Interment with Military Honors in North Ridge Cemetery Cambria, NY.
