Obituary

Kimberly C. Platt, 47, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on December 15, 2020 at South Buffalo Mercy Hospital. It was a crisp night with light snowflakes in the sky, her favorite winter landscape.  Born in Tonawanda, NY, she is the daughter of Penny L. (Huff) (late Robert L.) Fickett and the late Richard S. Platt.

Kim was a lifelong resident of the Town of Niagara, graduating from Niagara-Wheatfield High School in 1993.  She was employed at Seneca Niagara Casino within the food and beverage department for the past 15 years. Kim also spent time working at numerous local establishments, most recently at the Wagon Wheel in Niagara Falls.

Kim had an infectious laugh, one so loud you could hear her across a room. She had the biggest heart, always looking to help someone less fortunate, often cutting herself short doing so. Kim even had her own catch phrase, "HERHAW" instead of cheers. She loved to work out in her garden, adding new trinkets each holiday or season. She looked forward to taking her girls to Sullivan's when the weather was nice and seeing the holiday lights when it was cold. Kim enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, often hosting parties, having picnics and attending concerts. She was extremely hardworking, and cherished the time that she spent with her daughters.

In addition to her mother, Kim is survived by her daughters, Candyce Platt (David Riggs) and Hope Cutlip, as well as several nephews and cousins. Kim was predeceased by her sister, Jeanine F. Platt, as well as her father. She leaves behind a legacy for us to always remember her by. One of a wonderful woman gone too soon. She wouldn't want us to mourn her death, but celebrate her life, her achievements, and her memory.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 26 from 3 – 6 PM at the Town of Niagara Veteran's Park, 7000 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304 .  Visitors are encouraged to join the family with a drive through the park to pay their respects to Kim, and will be invited to come to the service location on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis if they desire in a manner that respects social distancing and gathering limits.  Arrangements by M.J.
