Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found my peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch,

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.

Our Grandmother

A love from a Grandmother is different,

Because it holds a certain significance.

Our Grandmother played so many roles,

The only love from a Grandparent,

many of us of Grandchildren have ever known.

We all had our separate bonds,

Believe she had her hands in all our lives.

A part of every milestone,

Her presence just seemed to set the tone.

In her eyes she needed no invitation,

Just being the Grandmother was her invitation.

She never had a problem with speaking her mind,

And was quick to tell you "these are mines".

Her knowledge and wisdom will live in us,

Along with the morals and values she instilled in us.

She taught us to be strong,

She said, "mourn for me for one day then carry on".

From our Granny to our children's GiGi,

It's up to us to carry on her legacy.
