Laureen Chiponis, 63, of Lockport, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, she is the daughter of Bonnie Lou (Garrow) Curtis and the late Joseph Curtis. On May 3, 1986, she married her beloved husband, Douglas Chiponis, at the former Holy Trinity Church in Niagara Falls. They moved to Lockport, NY where they raised their two children, Michael and John.

Laureen was a graduate of Niagara Catholic High School and earned her Associate's degree in Nursing from Niagara County Community College. She began working as a Registered Nurse at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and Somerset Labs. She later worked at Travelers Insurance prior to retiring from ProMedic, Inc. in 2019.

Laureen was a kind-hearted, selfless person who centered her life around her family. She cherished the time spent with them and was extremely proud of her children's accomplishments.

In addition to her mother, Laureen is survived by her adored children, Michael Chiponis and John (Sarah) Chiponis; as well as her loving extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas, and her brother, Joseph J. Curtis.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23 from 3 – 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Laureen and Doug's Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, October 24 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
