Lauretta (Serchia) Agnello, 90, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Mt St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Americo and Amelia (Elia) Serchia.
Lauretta was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School in 1943. On December 15, 1951 she married Joseph C. Agnello and was predeceased by him in 2006. Lauretta was employed as a Kleenex™ production worker and later as an inspector at Kimberly Clark Corp. in Niagara Falls. She was an active member of the Sertoma Club, N.F. Home Builders Association, Century Club, and American Red Cross. She was the chairman or co chair of many events within these organizations.
Lauretta was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She set an excellent example, and was an inspiration to all of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She consistently placed family before herself, right up until her last breath. The lessons we have learned from her will be with us all the days of our lives.
Lauretta is survived by her children Patricia (Kevin) Gabreski, Joa (Julian) Traista, Chris (Anthony) Bivona, Joseph (Sharon) Agnello, Jeffrey Agnello, David (Suzanne) Agnello and Debbie (Ron) Abramowitz-Cary; eight grandchildren Meaghan (Steven) Regal, Erica Gabreski, Marissa Bivona, Jenna Bivona, Matthew Agnello, Ethan Agnello, Jordan Agnello and Liana Agnello; two brothers Paul Serchia and Frank (Gerianne) Serchia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters Frances Esser and Evelynne Zenner.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ann's Angels for the compassion and care given to Lauretta.
Visitation on Friday, February 19th from 4 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon in Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one's choice.
