Lawrence "Larry" J. Beyer, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday June 19, 2011 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY while under the loving care by the staff of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Lawrence Frederick Beyer and Stella (Jennings) Weese.

Larry, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Finback from February 3, 1949 until his honorable discharge on February 2, 1950. Following his active duty service, he served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. On November 3, 1951 he married Beatrice M. (Alderton) Beyer at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Larry was employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education as an Operations Supervisor of the Maintenance Department and retired in 1992 after forty four years of service. He also served as a former president of the Niagara Falls Teachers Credit Union for twenty five years. Larry enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter but most of all his life was centered around his family.

In addition to his wife of fifty nine years Mr. Beyer is survived by nine children Susan Golombek of Tonawanda, NY; Paula Beyer of Sanborn, NY; Lawrence W. "Butch" (Gina) Beyer of Niagara Falls, NY; Maureen (James) Roetzer of Akron, NY; Laurie (Robert) Wilkinson, Kevin Beyer, Leslie (Richard) Templeton all of Niagara Falls, NY; John J. (Carol) Beyer of Richland, WA and Christopher (Dana) Beyer of Niagara Falls, NY; seventeen grandchildren Gregory (Rena) Golombek, Andrew Golombek, Patricia (Kyle) Meyers, Lawrence M. Beyer, William Beyer, James J. Roetzer, Jeremy Beyer, Jenna Beyer, Justin Beyer, Victoria Beyer, Samantha Templeton, Brian Templeton, Madison Beyer, Cole Beyer, Gunner Beyer, Julieanne Beyer, Adam Beyer and was predeceased by two granddaughters Danielle Wilkinson and Jessica Beyer. He is also survived by one great grandson Merrick Golombek, one brother Dr. Melvin B. Dyster of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Thursday June 23rd at 12:15 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Flowers are graciously declined. Donations in Mr. Beyer's memory can be made to the Susan G.
