Lawrence W. “Butch” Beyer, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Lawrence J. and Beatrice M. (Alderton) Beyer.

Butch attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. At just 18, he began what would become a lifelong career with the Niagara Falls Board of Education, dedicating more than four decades to the district. He retired in 2012 as Operations Supervisor of the Maintenance Department, proudly following in the footsteps of his father, who retired from the same position in 1992.

Butch was happiest outdoors. He loved hunting and enjoyed spending time in the Southern Tier with family and friends. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees.

He will be greatly remembered for his heart of gold and unwavering generosity. Butch would take the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Above all, his devotion to his family was the center of his life.

Butch is survived by his beloved children, Patricia Meyers, Lawrence M. Beyer and William Beyer; his cherished granddaughter, Page Meyers; seven siblings, Susan Golombek, Paula Beyer, Maureen (James) Roetzer, Laurie (Robert) Wilkinson, Kevin Beyer, John (Khris) Beyer and Christopher (Dana) Beyer, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Leslie (Richard) Templeton.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 20 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday, July 21 at 9:15 AM, followed by Butch’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 237 4th Street Niagara Falls, NY 14303. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings in Lawrence’s name may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
