Obituary
Lena E. Gavazzi, age 100, of Niagara Falls, NY. Passed away July 22, 2018 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home Lewiston, NY. She was born on May 19, 1918 in Madera. Pa. and was the daughter of the late Arturo and Sadie (Guido) Candido.
Lena attended schools in Pennsylvania, She married Trent D. Gavazzi in Tyler, PA, and moved to Niagara Falls in 1940. Mr. Gavazzi predeceased her in 1992. She worked many years as a Sales Representative of home products in Niagara Falls, NY. Lena was an accomplished vocalist, she sang in the choir at St. Leo's Church and was requested by many people to sing at various functions. She loved to garden, knit, crochet and made many, hats, blankets, doilies which she gave away to family and friends. Lena was a devoted member of the Third Order of St. Francis.
Lena is survived by her children; Donnalee M. (Robert) McDonnell, Trent T. (Maryl) Gavazzi and Sheila J. Gavazzi. Cherished Granny Goose of nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Louise (late George) Georgevich, Dolores Candido and her brother Arthur (Marsha) Candido, predeceased by brothers Joseph (Veronica) and Cosmo (Rita) Candido. Dearest aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin on Friday, July 27

, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148 or the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Visit
