Lena M. (Venturelli) Martinucci, age 104, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday October 12, 2011 in her home surrounded by loved ones under the care of Niagara Hospice. Lena was born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 15, 1907 to the late Natale and Ermellina Venturelli. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 73 years, Ariple 'Nini' Martinucci in 2003, who she married on September 20, 1930 at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls.

Lena moved to Italy as a child and returned to Niagara Falls at the age of sixteen. Lena's greatest joys were her family and her faith. She especially loved preparing large family dinners on Sundays and holidays, where everyone was welcomed. Over the years, Lena lovingly crocheted many gifts for family, friends and neighbors and will always be remembered for her wit and humor. Lena was very special to all who knew her. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Rosary R.C. Church in Niagara Falls, NY for sixty five years before its closing and a longtime member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of American, Cataract Lodge 240 also in Niagara Falls, NY.

Mrs. Martinucci was the devoted mother of Donald J. (Donna) Martinucci and Louise E. (Frank A.) Mannarino both of Niagara Falls, NY; loving grandmother of, Joseph (Kim Lewis) Martinucci, Christopher (Sherrie) Mannarino, late Nicholas (Lori) Martinucci, Daniel (Leslie) Martinucci, Frank D. (Theresa) Mannarino, Anthony (Carrie Cooper) Martinucci and Lori Galley; loving great-grandmother of Amy (Frank Maida) Joey (Lissy Peunic), Olivia, Vinny, Ashley, Toni, Marteea and Ryan Martinucci; Sean, Elizabeth and Benjamin Mannarino; Jennifer (Rob) Letourneau, Eric Banks Jr., Xavier McNaughton, Selena and Jeffrey Perry, Noel Binns and Kayla Walton; and loving great-great-grandmother of Nathan, Alena, Ashtyn, Ayden and Alex. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lena was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Irene (Shimel) Martinucci, two sisters Josephine (late Arduino) Panattoni, Nellie (late Frank) D'Amico and one brother Eri (late Laura) Venturelli.

Visitation will be on Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday October 15th at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
