Leonard F. Bevilacqua, 72 of Lewiston, NY passed away peacefully with his comforting circle of loved family and friends on Friday June 20, 2014 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. He is the son of the late Ernest and Rose (Principe) Bevilacqua.

On the glorious day of August 9, 1969, he married Cheryl Curcione Bevilacqua. He will always be her El Toro. Leonard is survived by their beautiful daughters, Miquel (Brian) Carey, Nicole Bevilacqua and tower of strength sons, Lenny and Vincent (Kate) Bevilacqua, cherished grandchildren, Hannah Rose, Cade Michael and Jack Matthew Carey, brothers Ernest (Mildred) Bevilacqua, Gary (Diane) Bevilacqua, his adored parents-in-law, Arthur and Frances Curcione, and "favorite" sister-in-law, Frani Curcione. Leonard also leaves his brother-in-law Art (Tammy) Curcione, godson Arthur (Kristen) Curcione and dear niece, Jolene Curcione as well as other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leonard was a 1959 graduate of Bishop Duffy High School and received a full scholarship to the University of Nebraska. He was named the first inductee to the Bishop Duffy/Niagara Catholic Sports Hall of Fame and was privileged to be inducted into the Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame.

An avid businessman and entrepreneur, he was additionally a licensed New York State real estate broker. Leonard was a faithful New York Yankee baseball and Notre Dame Football enthusiast. He proudly taught his grandchildren the Notre Dame Fight Song which they vibrantly sang together as he drove them to school each day.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's RC Church 620 Center Street Lewiston, NY with Msgr.
