Leslie R. Carpenter, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Northgate Manor. Born in Oshweken, Ontario, he was the son of the late Walter and Electee Carpenter; and the beloved husband of Ella "Jean" J. (General) Carpenter.

Leslie proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years prior to his honorable discharge in 1974. Following his discharge, he was employed by Ferree Plastics in Lockport, NY, and also owned and operated Roberts Express trucking company.

Leslie took great pride in his Native American roots and was a member of the Mohawk Nation. He also belonged to the VFW 917 for numerous years.

In addition to his wife, Jean Carpenter, he is survived by his children, Les (Sonja) Carpenter, Kevin (Kelli) Carpenter and Jamie (John) Gallagher; his grandchildren, Kevin Lee (Angela), Kelly (Scott), Amarrah, Natalie and Ty; his great-grandchildren, Aleigha, Avery, Abby, Austin, Easton and Jenni Lee; one brother, William (Sandy) Carpenter; his special extended family, Julia, Aaron, Emma, Tony and Daniel; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carpenter was predeceased by sister, Hazel (late Thomas) Sauro.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be privately held in the Western New York Veteran's Cemetery, Corfu, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Wounded Warrior's Project. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
