Lilli Rae Swanson, 75, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on January 14, 2023 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Alma Leah (Johnson) Williams.
Lilli Rae was a member of the Onondaga Eel Clan. She graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1964 and from the Nursing School at Niagara Community College with a Degree in Registered Nursing. On March 31, 1966, she married Hubert E. Swanson, Sr. She worked at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for 15 years, retiring in 2002. Lilli Rae's hobbies included Words with Friends, ceramics, puzzles and beading. She enjoyed watching Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Greys Anatomy. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, Lilli Rae is survived by her children, Becky (Dan) Smith, Hubert, Jr. (Patty), Dean (Jen), Michael (Shani) and Brian (Jamie); brothers, Karl (Cindy) and Wendell (Kim) as well as many grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter and son in law Sheryl (late Kurt) Williams, her brothers, Alfred 'Twoey' (late Carolyn) Williams and Lynn 'Spud' (late Pat) Williams.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18 from 12 – 1 PM at the Tuscarora Indian Mission Church, 5035 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132, where funeral services will begin at 1 PM. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offering may be made to St. Joseph's Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326. Arrangements by M.J.
