Lillian Rose Sofien, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on October 9, 2022 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility in Niagara Falls, NY.  Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Benjamin and Ethel (Goldman) Dworkin.

On June 9, 1946, Lillian married Reuben Sofien.  Mr. Sofien predeceased her on March 31, 1974 after 27 years of marriage.  Lillian was a longtime member of the John Duke Senior Center and a volunteer for HANCI's Grandparents as Support Group.  She loved knitting and reading, and cherished her 2 pit bulls.  Lillian marched to the beat of her own drum, and will be remembered for her great sense of humor and joking nature.

Lillian is survived by her best friend and caretaker, Rebecca (John Caso) Brooks-Caso.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Maser.

Lillian's family would like to thank the staff of the Second Floor of Schoellkopf Health Care Facility for the compassion and care shown to her during her time there.

Per Lillian's wishes, there will be no prior visitation or services.  Private entombment will be held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Los Angeles, CA.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to HANCI's Grandparents as Support Group, 1302 Main Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Arrangements by M.J.
