Linda J. (Kavanaugh) Foster, 67, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on April 26, 2015 following a courageous battle against cancer. She was surrounded by her family under the exceptional care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (McQuillan) Kavanaugh.
Linda attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School in 1965. She later attended Niagara County Community College where she earned an Associates of Science Degree. On September 11, 1976 Linda married David L. Foster in Grand Island, NY. Linda was employed as an Office Manager at Robert J. Miller and Associates in Tonawanda, NY for eighteen years until retiring in 2010.
Linda was an avid reader and met regularly with her friends to discuss and review books they read. Linda was a devoted member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and a former member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church both in Niagara Falls. She participated in activities at church both volunteering her services and supporting various church functions. Linda and her husband enjoyed vacationing and through the years traveled to various destinations. But most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family and friends. Linda was always ready and willing to assist anyone in any way she could. Her unforgettable smile and generous heart will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by three daughters Kimberly (Neil) Lewin of Niagara Falls, NY; Ryann (Angela Berti) Foster of Buffalo, NY and Kari (fiancée Jamee Rinehart) Foster of Niagara Falls, NY; three grandchildren Gavin, Mackenzie and Mason Lewin; seven siblings Richard (Rose) Kavanaugh, James Kavanaugh, Gail Kavanaugh all of Niagara Falls, NY; Patricia Kavanaugh and Joan Kavanaugh Piasecki both of North Tonawanda, NY; Beth (Paul) Triffiletti of Minnesota; Paul (Michelle) Kavanaugh of East Aurora, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her step daughter Wendy Foster and two brothers John Kavanaugh and Gary Kavanaugh.
A celebration of Linda's life will take place on Thursday April 30th from 4 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where a funeral service will be held on Friday May 1st at 11am with Rev. Richard Molison officiating.
