Lois (Smith) Davison, 88, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Minnie (Green) Smith.
Lois attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1945. Afterwards, she attended Buffalo State College and later earned a degree as a registered nurse from Niagara County Community College in 1973. Lois worked as a registered nurse at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical until she joined the visiting nurse services in Niagara County which she did from 1975 until her retirement.
Lois was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, Ladies of the Mist Chapter. She adored her home and neighborhood and particularly enjoyed working in her yard, gardening and taking walks on Pine Avenue. She was a passionate animal lover, especially of cats and dogs, and would often take time to feed and watch birds. Lois also had a love for music, playing the piano and accordion
Lois is survived by her two daughters, Joan (late Terry) Davis of Lewiston and Jennifer (Michael) Ward of West Palm Beach, FL, and was predeceased by one son Richard Charles Davison. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Corinne) Davis and Amanda (Michael) Buonopane; two great-grandchildren, Max Davis and Vivian Davis and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, Jack Smith and sister Hilda Bax both of Clearwater, FL.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A committal service will be held on Monday November 14th at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery 5871 Military Road, Lewiston, NY.
