Lois M. (Marshanke) Perry, 82, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Oil City, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Hilda (Deeter) Marshanke, Sr.
Lois came to Niagara Falls as a child with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School. On July 29, 1950 she married Nicholas J. Perry at Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Niagara Falls. From 1977 until 1987 Lois worked at the Carborundum Company in Wheatfield beginning as a clerical worker and later in production. Lois enjoyed doing craft work, and particularly liked flower arranging. But her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of sixty three years, Mrs. Perry is survived by four children Sandra Smith, Carol Perry, Patricia Perry and Nicholas J. (Rhonda) Perry all of Niagara Falls, NY; six grandchildren Joseph Smith, Andrea Lynn Perry , Gregory Perry, Kelsie Perry, Megan Perry and Nicole Perry; four great grandchildren, Christian Smith-Walker, Layah Smith, Armoni Perry, Giovanni Perry; three siblings Barbara (late Raphael 'Biff') Roffle of Niagara Falls, NY; Clarence (Betty) Marshanke, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and Judy (William) Schrenkengost of North Carolina and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one infant son, Nicholas Joseph Perry, one granddaughter Jamie Smith, as well as three brothers Martin (Nancy of Florida) Marshanke, Charles Marshanke and Philip Marshanke.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 31st from 3 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on February 1st at 9:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating.
