Obituary

Loren "Larry" Ray Brosius, 56, of the Town of Niagara, went home to the Lord at N.F. Memorial Medical Center on Wednesday December 1, 2010 after a courageous battle with kidney disease. Born in Ransomville, NY he was the son of the late James Alvin and Ruth Amanda (Barnes) Brosius.

Larry was a lifetime resident of the Niagara County area. He graduated from Wilson Central High School and later attended Niagara County Community College. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Japan. In June 1986 he married Teresa "Terry" (Spagnolo) Brosius in Niagara Falls, NY. Larry worked in traffic distribution, as an accountant, and in the shipping department of Union Carbide in Niagara Falls, NY.

Larry was the past president of the Niagara Falls Traffic Club, the Niagara Falls Men's Bocce League, and was one of driving forces for the formation of the Women's Bocce League. He was co-founder of the Landlord's Association of Niagara Falls, vice-president of the City Market Neighborhood Watch, committee member of the Weed & Seed program, and former manager of Niagara University Travel Hockey League. Larry was very knowledgeable and considered a "jack of all trades". He especially enjoyed gardening and engine repairs. Most important, he was a devoted husband and father who centered his life on his family and friends.

In addition to his wife of twenty four years, Loren is survived by six children Christine Carl, Wendy Brosius, Richard Brosius, Lawrence Monahan, Lisa Monahan all of Niagara Falls, NY and Joseph Monahan of Georgia; three grandchildren Christopher, Jordan and Natalie; three sisters and three brothers Kathleen (late Jerry) Canada of Niagara Falls, NY; Ronald (Linda) Brosius of Brookville, PA; Karen (Gerald) Grose of Niagara Falls, NY; Barbara (Hans Hauri) Brosius of Sarasota, FL; Allen Brosius and John Brosius both of Niagara Falls, NY; two half brothers and two half sisters, Lanny Rodgers, Donna Brosius, Victoria Brosius and Gary Brosius and several nieces and nephews.
