Obituary
Loretta (Scalzo) Musolino, 85, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Louis and Irene (Logan) Scalzo.
Loretta was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. She and her husband, the late Salvatore "Sam" Musolino owned and operated Sammy's Pizzeria on Hyde Park Boulevard in Niagara Falls, NY. She also worked at Occidental Chemical Co. as a key punch operator for over twenty years. In her leisure time, she loved to go shopping and dancing and especially enjoyed spending time relaxing in her yard. Loretta had a "flair" for fashion and a great eye for interior home decorating. For many years she owned a second home in Las Vegas, NV and frequently traveled there. Loretta was the "matriarch" of her family and was known to many as "Big L" despite her small stature. She was best known for drinking tea, reading magazines and having her dog, Ginger, by her side.
Loretta is survived by five children Sandra (Robert) Lozina of North Tonawanda, NY; Sharon Kargatis of Florida, Lori Paulino of the Town of Niagara, Karen Palmer of Las Vegas and Samuel (Charlene) Musolino of the Town of Niagara; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two sisters Ann (late Jack) Waldriff of the Town of Niagara and Ruth (late Chuck) Terrana, several nieces, nephews and cousins and her Beloved Dog Ginger. She was predeceased by four sisters Dorothy Guidotti, Evelyn Syracuse, Brandalyn Bellavia, Anette Cottet and two brothers Joseph Scalzo and Louis Scalzo.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday February 7th at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY .
