Louis A. Celenza, 75, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday May 10, 2010 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Nicholas and Sandra Celenza.
Louis was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. He attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1953 and later attended Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, NY. Louis was employed as a salesman for various automobile dealerships in Niagara Falls. At one time, he also worked in men's retail clothing and for the Niagara Falls Board of Education. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #247 in Niagara Falls. Louie's real passion in life was music. As a member of the Musician's Union, he played the bass and saxophone professionally with various local bands in the Niagara Falls area.
Mr. Celenza is survived by his four children, Dr. Lyn (Dr. John) Dyster of Lewiston, NY; Michael Celenza, Sr. of Los Angeles, CA; Mark Celenza of Charlotte, NC and Matthew (Pamela) Celenza of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren, Gabrielle, Michael, Jr., Stephanie, Maria, Nicole, Matteo and Luca, one sister Lena (Peter) Vendrillo of Lewiston, NY; one brother Joseph (Virginia) Celenza of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Thursday May 13th from 4 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where a funeral liturgy will be held at 6 p.m. with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
