Louis D. Cozzi, 70, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Saturday April 3, 2010 at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Mash) Cozzi.
Louis attended local schools and lived in the Niagara Falls area the majority of his life. During the Vietnam War he served in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed at General Motors where he worked for 24 years, retiring in 1990. Following his retirement he moved to Andover, NY, became a firearms instructor and worked as an armed guard for various companies. Louis was a member of the United Autoworkers, the LaSalle Sportsmen Club in Niagara Falls, and a life member of the Marine Corps League. An avid outdoorsman, Louis enjoyed many hunting and fishing expeditions. He was also a proficient ammunition loader and gun collector.
Survivors include his sister Shirley Tier of Niagara Falls, NY and brother, Joseph Cozzi of Kissimmee, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his best friend Carol Steblein of Lockport, NY and dear friends Hugh Gee of Lewiston and Teresa Sondek of Grand Island, NY.
Visitation on Wednesday 4 – 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral service will be held Thursday April 8th at 10 a.m. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
