Louis R. Danni, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Saturday January 9, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Parma, Italy he was the son of the late Andrea and Francesca (Mercadente) Danni.

Louis was raised and educated in Italy. He served in the Italian Army and was stationed in the Alpine Mountains. Louis immigrated to the United States in 1957. In 1959, he married Mary Theresa (Corsaro) Danni in Los Angeles, CA and afterwards settled in the Niagara Falls, NY area. Mr. Danni began working in construction and was instrumental in the construction of the Niagara Power Project. Following his career in construction, Louis worked as a chemical operator for Good Year and retired in 1994. Louis loved skiing, a hobby he had learned as a young boy in Italy. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing and camping.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Danni is survived by his six children, Robert Danni, Thomas Danni, Frances Snowden, John (Joseph Saseen) Danni, Michael Danni and Lisa (Michael) Sanders, five grandchildren, Mary Dodd, Michael, Tevin, Roman and Landon Sanders, one sister, Gina (Mano) Danni and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Louis was also predeceased by three siblings, Piero, Rosa and Stephen.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY. , where funeral services will begin on Friday January 15th at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Raphael Parish 3840 Macklem Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
