It is with great sadness that the family of Louis J. Fiacco of Wheatfield, NY announces his death. He passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024 at Niagara Hospice, at the age of 97, with loving family by his side. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of late Angelo and late Maria (Trapasso) Fiacco. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie A. (Kraft) Fiacco for nearly 70 years.
Louis was a proud Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was employed by Verizon for 35 years before retiring in 1989 and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a devoted husband and father, a tireless worker, and he could be counted on always to lend a helping hand to any family member, friend, or neighbor.
In addition to his wife, Louis is survived by Michael (Mary Elizabeth Wakefield) Fiacco, Loretta Fiacco, Louisa Fiacco, and Marya (Kenneth) Kopacz; and a sister, Marion (late John) Kraft. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Matthew Fiacco, and siblings Gino (late Grace) Fiacco, Dora (late Louis) Toti, and Salvatore (late Vesta) Fiacco. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY. A private interment will be held at Mt. View Cemetery in Pekin, NY at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff of Niagara Hospice for their compassionate care. Flowers are graciously declined.
