Louis Gobbo, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Bibano, Italy, he was the son of the late Mario and Teresa (Malare) Gobbo; and the beloved husband of the late Lena Gobbo who he married on July 10, 1948 at St. Joseph's Church.

Louis came to the United States with his family as a child and settled in Niagara Falls. He worked at Penn Central Railroad as a Brakeman for 43 years until his retirement.

Louis was a devout Catholic and current member of St. John de LaSalle Church and a former parishioner of Prince of Peace Church where he served as an Usher for several years.

Louis was an avid horse racing fan and especially enjoyed going to OTB. He also loved sports and was a passionate New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan. In his later years, Louis enjoyed socializing and exercising at the Summit Park Mall. Above all, he centered his life around his beloved family and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Gobbo is survived by his two children, Phyllis (late James) Porebski and Theresa (William) Muth; his grandchildren, Sherry (Wayne) DeGeorge, Dennis Porebski, Denise (Todd) Karski, Michael (Kara) Muth, and Joel (Paulette) Muth; seven great-grandchildren, Natalie Karski, Lauren Karski, Eleni DeGeorge, Ryan DeGeorge, Reece DeGeorge, Annabelle Brown and Milania Muth, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Ilario Gobbo and Angelina Ciuffetelli.

Louis' Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 29 at 11:00 AM in St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
