Louis J. Pacella, D.D.S., 88, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Louis and Madalena (Focazio) Pacella.

Dr. Pacella was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. During World War II he served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on January 25, 1945. Following his military service he continued his education at Niagara University, and later graduated from the University Of Buffalo School Of Dental Medicine in 1955. Dr. Pacella completed his oral surgery internship at Edward G. Myers Memorial Hospital, currently known as Erie County Medical Center, in Buffalo, NY. He went on to practice dentistry and oral surgery at his office on Main Street in Niagara Falls, NY for forty four years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member and served as a former president of the Eighth District Dental Society as well as a member of the American Dental Association, Niagara County Dental Society and the Niagara Frontier Country Club. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing and was extremely handy with do-it-yourself projects. Above all, Dr. Pacella will be remembered as a modest and selfless man who adored his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dr. Pacella is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Antoinette (Centofanti) Pacella who he married on September 24, 1960 at St. Leo's Church in the Town of Niagara. He is also survived by his three sons, Gary (Patricia) Pacella of Fairhaven, MA; Alan (Graciela) Pacella of Boca Raton, FL and John (April) Pacella of Lewiston, NY; two grandchildren, John Pacella, Jr., and Grace Lucia Pacella, two sisters, Gloria Rignall and Evelyn (late Michael) Pullo both of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by one grandson Maxwell Pacella.

There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY will be held at the convenience of the family.
