Louis R. Turri, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 19, 2020 at Veteran's Administration Hospital in Buffalo, NY.  Born in Shepton, PA, he was the son of the late Louis A. and Matilda (Calovini) Turri.

Louis came to the area as a child with his family, graduating from Niagara Falls High School and later attending Niagara University.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Morse Code Operator from 1959 until his honorable discharge in 1963, including an overseas deployment in Turkey.  He was employed for over 20 years as a Customs Broker at C.J. Tower and Sons at the Whirlpool Bridge in Niagara Falls, NY, and for Buffalo Customhouse Brokers at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge.

Louis loved sports and enjoyed playing baseball and softball during the service and in his younger years, as well as bowling.  He also coached softball and Little League for many years.  In 2007, he was inducted into the Niagara Falls Old Timer's Sports Hall of Fame.  He was a generous giver to various charitable organizations.

Louis is survived by his sons, David Turri, Shawn (Robyn) Turri, and Rick (Nicole) Forgione; his grandchildren Jacob, John, Katherine, Joseph and Lily Turri, and Isabelle Forgione; his brothers, Richard (Georgian) Turri, Jerel (Yvonne) Turri, and Leland (Janine) Turri, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to recent circumstances, funeral services will be held privately for the family.  Inurnment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A public Memorial Service will be held a later date to be announced. If desired memorial offerings in Louis' memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by M.J.
