Louise B. (Bango) Scalzo, 63, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away Friday July 24, 2015 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in New York City, NY she was the daughter of Josephine (Gonzalez) Bango and the late David Bango.

Louise worked for five years at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City where she developed an appreciation for the arts. She attended Niagara County Community College and Niagara University, where she achieved the Dean's List each semester, and was a member of two honor societies. On September 1, 1973 Louise married Thomas A. Scalzo, Jr. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Louise worked as floor manager for twenty years at Scalzo's Restaurant in Niagara Falls. She then worked for the Niagara Falls Board of Education at LaSalle Middle School and since 1992 has worked as an assistant teacher in English as second language at Henry J. Kalfas Elementary School. Louise was a voracious reader and also enjoyed movies, walking, and tending to her gardens. Most importantly, Louise was dedicated to the care of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her mother, and husband of forty-one years, she is survived by her son, Thomas A. Scalzo, III (Samantha Pearce) of Williamsville, NY; her sister Miriam Bango, and brother John D. Bango, both of Niagara Falls, NY. She was the sister-in-law of Robert (Gloria) Scalzo of Niagara Falls, and aunt of Peter Mangual, Alec Scalzo, and Melissa Bruso. Louise was predeceased by her aunts, Josephine Bango, Eloise Bango, and Esther (late Irving) Myers.

Visitation will be Thursday 2- 4 PM & 7 – 9 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 31st at 10 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 27th St. and Independence Ave. Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
